New Zealand will host two significant international career development events in Auckland this November, strengthening global collaboration and New Zealand’s contribution to career guidance policy and practice.

The International Centre for Career Development and Public Policy (ICCDPP) Symposium and the International Association for Educational and Vocational Guidance (IAEVG) International Conference will be held back-to-back over one week. The two events will bring together career practitioners, researchers, system leaders and policymakers from New Zealand and overseas.

The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) is the government partner for both events.

Nina Ive, TEC’s Deputy Chief Executive, Careers and Investment Design, says hosting the events aligns with New Zealand’s long‑term approach to building an effective and inclusive careers system.

“These events strengthen international connections, support quality practice and align with the National Careers System Strategy.

“As kaitiaki of the Strategy, TEC has a leadership role in coordinating its implementation. Hosting these events helps translate the Strategy’s direction into shared learning and practical action.”
